|We are coming to the end of 2017 which marked a wonderful year of celebrations for MGS’ 130th Anniversary. Some notable highlights include the Thanksgiving Service in January with our own Alumnae choir and string ensemble, and the official openings of both the MGS Sports Complex and MGS Heritage Centre (HC). If you haven’t yet visited the HC, do come for a walk down memory lane at the various open houses scheduled.
The first event for 2018 is the Alumnae Praise Service on Saturday, January 27th from 10am to 11am . Join us for a time of hymn singing and hear Rev Malcolm Tan expounding on lessons to be learnt from the life of Ms Sophia Blackmore. We will have an Open House of the HC before the service, from 8.30am to 9.45am.
For your convenience, at point of writing, the confirmed dates for the Heritage Centre Open House are:
• 27 January, 8.30am to 9.45am.
• 14 April
• 25 July
• 18 August (also Alumnae Day aka Past vs Present games)
• 17 November
Please check our webpage /others/alumnae/announcements-n-events closer to the date for confirmed timings for the other dates, and an updated calendar of events.
For next year, we are working hard to complete renovations on our own Alumnae Room as well as issue a membership card through which you can access facilities at the Sports Complex for a token fee. Do bear with us as we need to fine tune details before announcing them, but hopefully things will be clearer by 1Q of 2018.
Many thanks are due to each and every member of my committee for their dedication and commitment to all our projects and events. You ladies exemplify our motto To Master, To Grow and To Serve, and for helping to ensure that our MGS culture is passed on.
Thanks as always to the SMT especially Ms Grace Ng and Mrs Corinne Sim, for partnering and supporting us, as well as to Ms Joanna Kong, who has been efficiently managing a lot of the administration for the committee.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very Blessed Christmas and Joyous 2018!
